Take a quick look. This is Bethany Lutheran Church, but in this snapshot, we won’t all be in the same place at the same time. That’s because Bethany Lutheran Church is not an address on Noe Bixby Road with a GPS latitude and longitude, but people. More specifically, redeemed people in Jesus Christ. These are people on the move who don’t merely go through life, but have life going through them.
It’s the life of Jesus. So on any Monday morning if the question comes up of the location of Bethany, we’d have to answer, “Well, some are in hospitals, some in school buildings, some are in the military, some are working in construction, some caring for grandchildren, some are flying planes and some are just sleeping in. Yeah, we do that too.” The church of Jesus Christ is not a monument, but a movement.
"Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’”
Matthew 28:18-20
WORSHIP SERVICES
The heart of Christianity is not what we do for God but what God has done for us in Christ Jesus.
We call our worship service the “Divine Service” because the Divine One, our Lord Jesus, promises to be present with us to give us clean hearts and renewed spirits. We come in joyful reverence to receive from Him each Lord's Day (Sunday) the gifts that flow from His cross to us. All are welcome to attend worship services at Bethany and if you have any questions or concerns, please talk to Pastor Shaw.

CAN I RECEIVE THE LORD'S SUPPER?
The Lord’s Supper is celebrated at this congregation in the confession and glad confidence that, as
our Lord says, He gives into our mouths not only bread and wine but His very body and blood to eat and to drink for the forgiveness of sins and to strengthen our union with Him and with one another. Our Lord invites to His table those who trust His Words, repent of all sins, and set aside any refusal to forgive and love as He forgives and loves us, that they may show forth His death until He comes. Holy Communion is a confession of the faith which is confessed at this altar, any who are not yet instructed, in doubt, or who hold a confession differing from that of this congregation and the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod, are asked to first speak with the pastor before communing.
The following questions are intended to help you ‘examine yourself’ (1 Corinthians 11:28) in order to determine whether or not you're prepared to receive the Lord's Supper with us:
1. Have I been baptized in the Christian faith?
2. Am I sorry for my sins?
3. Do I believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior?
4. Do I plan, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to change my sinful life?
5. Do I believe that in and with the bread and wine I also receive the body and blood of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of my sins?
6. Do I understand and affirm the basic doctrine of the Bible as taught by this congregation and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod? If you have any doubts or questions, please talk with Pastor prior to attending the Lord's Supper.
